Comprised of the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, Mercier-West and Mercier-East (also called Tetreaultville) neighbourhoods, the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough is located at the south of the island of Montreal. It has 131,000 residents, and is in the midst of a real-estate boom of sorts. The borough is surrounded by Montreal-East, Anjou, Saint-Leonard, Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie, the Plateau, Ville-Marie and the St. Lawrence River.
